I am fortunate that as soon as I could walk my Dad took me hiking in the mountains, initially in Wales and later in Europe, this experience taught me to love the freedom and challenge of being in the mountains and other than a tricky teenage stage I have carried that passion throughout my life.
I believe that adventure is essential for everybody and I am motivated by challenging myself to make human powered journeys, be it running, walking, cycling, swimming or ski touring across remote or mountainous terrain. I believe such adventures should be authentic and sustainable, they should support mountain communities, ecosystems and nature. Adventuring is this way can have a positive effect of the places through which travel and can transform the way you see yourself and the world around you.
Through this blog I hope to inspire people, especially girls and women to travel sustainably to places that mean something to them and to grow in confidence through the adventures they endure.
As is always the case the most the most important thing is simply to begin.
